Carrie Bradshaw Is To Shoes, As Photographers Are To……..

BAGS!
Gear Bags. Working Bags. Ditty Bags. Travels Bags.
And rightfully so.
Like the we always say, the Right tool for the Right job. Or bag in this case.
Photographic bags can look like they have all that you need, space, pockets, dividers support online, in the store, or the videos we present, but it’s when you use it in action that the rubber meets the road, so to speak.

Now, if storage is the issue, there is no issue. You know what will fit and what won’t.

It’s when the bag is in use, that’s the true test.
If you work your gear with a bag over your shoulder like an event or wedding photographer, you’ll be touching that stuff all day.
So you’ll find out pretty quick what feels right.
Weight distribution, access to the most used items, speed, and yep, comfort.
You’ll be wearing this pup all day. And unlike Jimmy Choos or Manolo Blahniks, fashion DOES NOT come before function here.
My female friends make do for the look.
Working photogs don’t. Or can’t.

Thats’ why we use the gear we discuss and ask the workers around the country for input.

Anne and Dan Almasy
are wedding photogs based in Altanta and are constantly booked. With good reason. They are fantastic photographers. Check out the work.
Because they are constantly booked, they work their gear like it should be worked. Hard.
Their working bag of choice? The BODA bag.

We’ve spoken with this team before, and discussed all of the options. And they have been tried and put aside.
The comfort and speed of access were 2 items they mentioned. And the overall quality of workmanship. You want to buy your gear once. Save dough on some other options, and if you’re really working it, you’ll be buying another. Been there.
So when your gear comes in and out of the bag, you need well built AND well finished pockets, flaps, etc. And in the right places. This your gear workflow. Plus comfort on the shoulder. Huge item. Scrimp on that now and pay a massage therapist later. The Boda bag is all that.

This week we’ll be giving away one of these bags to one of you. To be eligible for this awesome freebie, you MUST be a subscriber to the NEWSLETTER. All of the details will be included in the next NEWSLETTER, coming to your email in-box on Weds. Sept. 3, @ 9:00 AM.

  3. Stephanie says:

Hi, I wanted to know what Anne Almasy is using. Boda dry or dry jr?

  4. Damon says:

    From Anne:
Hi Stephanie! We actually haven’t gotten the Dry bags yet. My bag is an older version that is slightly different, but it’s basically the same size and setup as the Dry (not Jr.). I usually keep 2-3 lenses in the bag, a flash in the side mesh pocket, a couple of Pocket Wizards in the front zip pocket, all my flash cards in the card holder, some business cards, my phone and ID and gum, all my lens caps in a back zip pocket, some extra batteries in one of the little front pockets… I carry a TON of stuff in this bag! I love being able to swing it from hip to hip, and shoulder to shoulder. It’s really been fabulous!
