Aaron and Rosie Forever – A Flickr Love Story

A little romance to start your weekend.

What happens when 2 photographers fall in love across an ocean ?

You get a visual love story that could only happen with today’s technology.

24-year-old designer and photographer Aaron Nace and 17-year-old student and part-time waitress Rosie Hardy found each other’s photos on internet on the same day. Kismet.

But Aaron Nace is in North Carolina, and Rosie Hardy is in the UK.

Both incredibly talented artists, check the site called ARF (aaronrosieforever.blogspot.com), who have been sharing work remotely and fell in love online in the most visual way: they fell in love with each others photographs.

And now, they make images together, called Collaboration Sundays, and have started the business we mentioned above. Two artists following their hearts and passion, as one. That’s the best.

Follow this touching digital love story by checking back to the site.
And visit their Flickr pages at Aaron and Rosie on Flickr.

And get some valuable , technical, information in the process. I’m thinking it’s a good call to learn from these two. They have an amazing on-line course that they teach in 2 hour blocks. Seems like a good investment.

Incredibly talented. Incredibly in love.
Fairy tales can come true.

As a matter of fact, Aaron just emailed us , and this is what he had to say:
“First off we both started our 365 projects after seeing other talented photographers on Flickr already involved in the project. Rosie and I had some interest in photography at the time, but had no idea where it would take us. When we each started the project we had no idea who each other was. We would meet about 2 weeks after Rosie started posting photos on Flickr. In an amazing coincidence we discovered each other’s photo streams on the same day! Instantly we both made it a priority to contact each other. There was something special about Rosie and i knew it right away – we were destined to be together.

We started sending messages back and forth on Flickr, which turned into an amazing adventure series. in 2 weeks time we were writing each other for about 3 hours a day, taking our characters in the adventure series to far off places and exotic fantasies.

It became clear through all of this that we were VERY compatible, and from the begenning we said that we share the same brain, something I know is true now more than ever. After a few months of talking literally ALL the time, I made the trip to Europe to see Rosie, it was perfect in every sense of the word. I have never felt more myself around anyone, I know she loves me for exactly who i am and I love her for who she is. It is a modern day fairy tale.

As far as our work goes, we both continue to take self portraits every day, but we each have very different styles, and I think that is as important as anything. We are never in competition, we are always a team.”

Did you know that their story is fake and that they have a hole team of photographers, and graphic designers behind then ?

  2. Damon says:

Well I have to hand it to them if that’s true. Nicely constructed story, with some good photographs to boot. Who couldn’t use a little romance story now and again?
    All good, whichever way.

  3. Amy says:

Now what would be the point in faking all that?? Im curious, where would be the gain in it all?
I think its real, their photographs are amazing, they are so creative and lovely people when you get to know them.

  4. GummyBears says:

I know people who don\’t love their story.

    1 – Because it\’s fake
2 – Because they steal other people\’s ideas.

PS : Please stop with these marketing campaign to promote these people. You should promote the work of REAL photographers.

    FAKE !!!

  6. BJ Nace says:

This is Aaron Nace\’s mother and sorry to upset all you non-believers, but the story is 100% true. They do all their own photos, and think up all their shoots. I do not know how he dreams up these photos on a daily basis, but I can tell you that he rarely sleeps. To say that he has always heard a different drummer is an understatement.

  7. Damon says:

Thanks for that last comment. The strong reactions will only increase their fame and spreading their work. Wonder if all of the haters know that.

  8. Jack Nace says:

I am Aaron Nace\’s uncle and i assure you that it is all part of a marketing campaign to launch a new product.

I cannot tell the name of the company.

PS : BJ Nace is a troll

  9. @Jack: I think you should open your cynical eyes and see this for what it is: pure romance and nothing else. So what if they make gains from doing what they love – is that not the definition of a career?
@BJ: Good of you too stand up for your son, but expect more hatred, jealousy and the likes. Its the way of the world.
@photoinduced: keep up the good work!

  10. Amy says:

I found a great blog called “Rosie Hardy Plagiarism”
    http://rosiehardyplagiarism.tumblr.com/

That proves that Rosie Hardy blatantly copies other photographers ideas from her DeviantART favourites : http://rosiehardy.deviantart.com/favourites/

The worst part is that she sells the images, and claims her work as original.

  11. Ann says:

Rosie Hardy is not a photographer. She is a copycat.

Visit this blog to see many of the images that she plagiarized :

ps _ this post was “inspired” from # GummyBears

  13. A friend says:

Wow, the amount of hatred here is remarkable! As a close friend of Rosie’s I’d just like to say that there’s absolutely no team of graphic designers or photographers behind either of them. They’re self portraitists just like any other self portrait artist out there. If you’ve seen Aaron photoshop, you know he’s more than capable by his own hands. Rosie is also a whizz with photo manipulation and photography. This story isn’t fake and they both went through quite a bit of heart ache toward the end of their relationship. I’m sure they’d appreciate a bit of respect. Jack Nace is definitely a liar as well and there is no truth to the fact that Aaron did what he did to launch a company. In fact, he did launch a company called Phlearn with another girl who he’s recently left. His relationship with Rosie certainly didn’t launch that company.
