See you at the movies. Our treat!

Photographers have often been the protagonists in dramatic feature films. Whether their profession becomes a plot point or the means with which they discover or see the world, we at Photoinduced.com are bringing you some of these movies for our weekly giveaway.

From mystery, light comedy, love story, political drama , or just plain pop “ripped from the headlines” story lines, photographers have been portrayed in both good and bad light in films for years.

Did seeing James Woods in ” Salvador “ convince anyone to become a photojournalist? [photopress:salvador.01._AA240_SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg,thumb,alignright]
Or perhaps ” Paparazzi “ convinced the public that these people were bottom feeders eating off the floor of the media circus?

And the romantic interlude of Clint Eastwood and Meryl Streep in ” Bridges of Madison County” gave a romantic twist to the insight of a world traveling photojounalist.

Maybe the Alfred HItchcock classic ” Rear Window “caused you to use your camera to see things that may or may not have been seen?

Was the thinly veiled portrayal of Richard Avedon by Fred Astaire in ” Funny Face “ enough to make you switch from a life of chemical engineering to fashion photography?

Whether Hollywood has ever gotten the profession or hobby “right” is not in question. Its the middle of the summer and we are ripe for a bit of a movie break.

Last week we offered the biographies of famous photographers.

Now it’s time to lighten it up and lose yourself in a flick.

So this week we offer a little fantasy in the summertime. For 5 of those on the mailing list we offer a
choice of one of these 5 movies for your library.

Sign up at the top of the page and then look for the giveaway email with details on Wenesday morning.
And you’ll have to be quick on the reply. These things go fast.

Enjoy!
