As a young man, the single photographer who had the greatest influence on me was Edward Weston.
Reading from his daybooks , a diary of his journeys, thoughts, and imagery, they transported me to a place of an imagined future life.
Edward Weston – Daybooks
Little did i realize at the time that, it was not about mimicing a life style or a photographic style, but listening to the words and digging deeper.
In time I did listen correctly ,yet always went “back to the well” so to speak of Edward Westons work. And still do.
While travelling around on the web, There was a major discovery. Someone has found a government film about Edward Weston from the 40′s. The documentary takes you through Westons life, his home, his friends, on shoots. I had never seen film on him before and this was incredible.[photopress:ew2.jpg,full,alignright]
