New York City – just like I pictured it….

We’ll start the week in NYC with the Lucie Awards.
This event is considered to be the Academy Awards of photography.
And judging by the list of honorees, thats a pretty good analogy.

Go ahead. Click the link. Make your day.

At a lunch on Sunday, many of this years honorees were in attendance to meet and greet.

Duane Michaels, whom I’ve always been a huge fan of ,was one of the biggest surprises for me.
Yes, there is a wry sense of humor and philosophic outlook on life in his work. But somehow I didn’t expect the loose, ring leader fun guy.

He certainly had Eikoh Hosoh in a good mood.

Sponsored by Pilsner Urquell beer, this event is in it’s 4th year and has already garnered the respect of the photography community.

I must applaud the folks at Pilsner Urquell also. An advertiser who supports photography in its purest form and shares the passion with all of us, is not just a cool thing but essential.

In the coming days we will post some videos from a project sponsored by them on our MEDIA page. I’ll wait to discuss them until they are up and running.
Stay tuned.

Cheers!
Damon Webster
