I remember being interviewed by Leigh and George, when I was in my late 20s. I think I was the youngest person interviewed for the show. It was a thrill to have my make-up done by Johnny Carson's make-up team, then spend 1/2 hour with those guys being alternately laughing and being serious. What a team they were. I remember the experience so well. It would be such a great thing to see all 130 episodes now that so many of the photographers interviewed are no longer alive. Maybe they could be made into Youtube movies?

Hi,

I was wondering if you already knew that photographer Jeff Sedlik, at a point early in his career was still photographer for this show (but I don't know for how long). It could be interesting to explore that also... for extra features on this project. Also, I've written a description of your discovery in french - for French readers - on my personal blog. It's quite a project and there's definitively potential for the publication of the whole series. We're curious to know more and to help... if necessary.

Cheers to you all.

In this era of 100% pixel peeping examination of the most inane digital bellybutton dust, photography needs to be reminded what photography actually is. It is not whether the DSLR dynamic range is better than the medium format backs or whether the signal to noise of the Kodak chip is better than the Dalsa. It is about the emotional quality of image.

Sign me up for something. Let me know if I can help in some way.

This sounds like a terrific series. I teach photography and the shows would be a fantastic addition to the classroom. How can I help? God knows I have no money toward getting the materials updated, but is there something else I can do?
