The Impossible Project Delivers – New SX-70 Instant Film

Yep, we’ve been waiting for this. The Impossible Project package arrived today!

The envelope arrived today with 1 pack of of PX 100 Silver Shade/First Flush film. Of course, we had already ordered up 2 more packs. ( you can buy packs of film right now at about $21. for 8 shots.)

A press kit with a disk and documents plus some beautiful images reproduced on very glossy stock, relayed the story of a very long journey to this point.

Tomorrow the pack goes in and the shooting will happen.
Only 8 shots right now. Kinda feels like the 3 wishes that a genie gives you: you really don’t want to waste one.
The motor on the DSLR will be put aside, and the slooooow decison of the shutter click of an SX-70 will take place.

Looking forward to that process, and we’ll report back here, probably posting some photos first on our Facebook Fan page, just because it’s fast, and then here on the site, and on the Photoinduced.com Flickr page.

From what we can tell, there is a monochromatic, slightly dreamy quality we will be working with.
A portrait is probably in order.

Thankfully, we purchased a minty SX-70 at a swap meet last month.

You just never know what you can find at those things.
