March 21, 2006

Our brilliant web designers, The Barbarian Group, has come up with a very cool game with a concept that is near and dear to our hearts: Escape The Paparazzi. Help the celebrities dodge the paparazzi on their way to a premiere. Click on the title, it will take you to VH1 where the game is posted. You’ve got to try this out! We did contribute a small bit to this (background plates), but the genius is all with the talented Barbarians. Well done folks!

On other notes, the first submission for the Gallery has come in and will be posted tomorrow 3/22/06. For her efforts and being first, Bethan McIntyre will be sent a copy of The Family Of Man, discussed in an earlier blog. We do have one more copy of the book we will send to the very next accepted person to post.
So post away. It’s time to share your work.

Coming in the next few weeks will be an ongoing discussion of the tools needed to set up a Digital Darkroom.
We will review some of the best tools out to make sure your desktop photographic printing experience is the best it can be.
Some of the subjects we will cover are:
Monitor Calibration (making sure what’s on your monitor is what comes out of your printer)
Software, Printers and some of the best instructional DVD’s /Downloads out there to help you learn on your own time at your own speed.
We are gathering all of the equipment and materials to test and review to make sure you make the right choices for the way you work, and the level you want to work out.
And for those looking to get the most from their point & shoot, and cell phone cameras we will field-test some of the good options out there for sharing your pictures.
If you have some experiences with equipment/instructional materials you would like to share, let us know.

AND next week we should have some more videos for you on the MEDIA page as well as a new look for the video player.

Cheers!
