Does this bag make my gear look fat? ThinkTank Photo has a new retro line-up for you

It’s true. Photographers are always looking for that perfect bag.
Well, as no camera will give you everything you want or need, neither will one bag.
We do have our faves for each type of assignment, or walkabout.
The people at ThinkTank Photo have come up with another line of backs called the Retrospective line, that serves a few purposes: It enters the lens drop bag category, which is the bag of choice for many wedding and event shooters.
“Keep your clients close and your equipment closer”. Sorry, had to do it.

Plus they incorporated a velcro silencer we’ve seen in another manufacturer, and the usefulness is crazy good, especially if you’ve ever tried to be stealth only to have the Rrrrrippping sound of the camera bag opening kill the mood.

And they’ve added a rolling case on steroids. Smaller than some studio case we’ve used from Tamrac, but that’s a good thing.
We can store everything in a bigger case but it is a bear transported the full roller to location and up and down stairs.
It’s the old Goldilocks situation- some are too small, some are too bag, but this feels just right.
Remember, if you are checking it into a flight, go for the Pelican cases. These cases are made for the shorter haul.

We’ll be looking at the latest Boda Bag system shortly, which is also a lens drop bag system, and let you know the pros and cons of each.
