I run RAID1 and have three drives. Once a month I bring the third drive in from offsite and plug it in… it mirrors overnight and the drive that has just been in the unit for a month goes offsite. Then annually I replace all the drives with larger capacities, copy the previous year’s data onto the new drive (with room enough for the coming year) and voilá; multi drive, multi site redundancy.
