Need someone to finance your photo project ? They may be reading this right now.

This is the big stumbling block for many fine artists and photojournalists who have something to say, but not the dough to finance the project.
And usually that means the money to make prints for the exhibit, design and publish the book, and generally the expenses the financial freedom to pursue the project in the first place.
Well, there is a new company, called Kickstarter that may be able to help.
We first came upon them when someone was designing a small plastic stand for an iPhone that added a tripod thread and an angled configuration to make viewing easier.
It was called the Glif.
that one worked out so well, we decided to help fund TikTok These folks were trying to raise $15k and ended up with $941,718!
Now, these companies were offering product and the ideas were very cool. The TikTok originators were very experienced designers.
But we have also seen some of our readers get funded:

Like photographer Lucia De Giovanni’s Love Project:

Right now, Patrick Hoelck is looking to get his Polaroid Hotel project funded, and he’s almost there

Maybe your donation will help him put it over the top. This guy is pretty darn fantastic and immensely talented so you can’t go wrong in your support.

Or photographer Renee Jacobs whose work with the female nude is legendary and beautiful. (yes, be aware that there are naked bodies in the video)

You see, maybe there are ways other than grants and such, since they seem to be drying up. And as those who have gone that route, they know it is a very laborious application stage, as it should be.

Perhaps if you can pitch your project to the world, as passionately as you do to those who know you, throw in some social media promotion, your vision can be made a reality.

Maybe it’s time to see if your concept has wings. And gets the Kickstart it needs.
OK, I heard that groan!

These are just 3 photographic examples. What will your idea be?
