Huge crowds began pouring into Austin ,Texas today for the SXSW festival.
Covering Interactive, Film and Music, of course the first folks we meet on the plane are Philip Bloom and his fiance Sara, both photographers, but Philip is here to do 2 presentations on shooting with HD DSLRs .

So it was a lively plane ride [...]

At every major event you can see them laden down with the bags of gear, strobe frames, wrists and necks full of badges, laminates, and passes. Even the cameras had their own tags

When you are watching music, they get the 1st row access (at least for 3 songs), at the conferences, they are sitting down [...]

Austin is now seeing the changing of the guard:

The visual media has been fully ramped during SXSW this week.
We have seen more image capturing devices in one place in ever before.
But where do all the images go?
Shared with friends on a social networking platform, emailed, print pubs, or maybe just on a site like this.
This is becoming the norm.

Seriously, we have seen more folks twittering, shooting stills, rocking Flip Mino’s, emailing, texting, and yep, good old fashioned pen to paper, getting the word out about the events at SXSW.
And we’ll admit that, although we have been tweeting, the posts have been slower.
