Weekly Giveaway – Here’s a Shocker

While at the Gregory Crewdson lecture at the Hammer Museum last week, we got a signed copy of his new book Beneath The Roses for you. This is a large one with plates measuring 14.5″x 9.5″ and the overall book dimensions of 16.3 x 11.7.

We only mention size because that is a hallmark of his work. The extreme deep focus and storyline detail can be told best in the massive print size.

Plus the book includes set sketches, lighting plans, etc. to give you a fuller understanding of the production and thought process behind the making of these images.

    Damon,
Thanks for the book and surprise notification email of winning! I anxiously awaited the book. Upon arrival I opened up the box and immediately started looking through the photographs and artwork of Gregory Crewdson…WOW! I found his scenes a bit eeery, but at the same time an amazing example of art collection and process. Here\’s my shocker and eeery thing that happened. As soon as I finished, I received my copy of Smithsonian magazine. Low and behold in it is an article on Gregory Crewdson and this book! I loved the imagery caught in the \”in between moments.\” it made me stop and wonder, photographically, what extraordinary effort Gregory went through to produce his artwork. Simply awe-inspiring!
    Thanks so much again.
