PhotoPlus Expo 2010 – Form AND Substance

It seemed to go quick, but maybe because we were in constant motion.
The times we did stop were pretty rich, as the event producers and many manufacturers were putting out some solid photographic training professionals.
We are huge supporters of the companies that are as interested in teaching you about photography as they are in selling you their product.
And it’s not just a pitchman mentality. This is real info from the real workers.

Mark Seliger gave an inspiring talk that had his fans lined up to thank him afterwards.

The lower floor of the Javits had enough seminars and hands on training to keep your photographic bones tingling for a long time. there was a master schedule, and each room gave you details of each talk so you could plan your personal event movements.

And, as usual, Joe McNally gathered a crowd over at Nikon;

Lensbaby made sure you knew just how to use their full line of products;

Of course, Canon had the crowd mesmerized with teachers like Douglas Kirkland showing how it’s done.

We have a lot more info/images from the event and those surrounding it that we’ll be posting shortly. It’s been one our busiest times in NYC so far, with another event, the Aperture Benefit this evening.
More to come as we catch our breath during one of the best weeks of photography of the year.
